Travel with Vivian Westwood
Vivienne Westwood has got a thing for luggage. The eco-conscious designer recently put her punk stamp on the Cambridge Satchel Company’s fifth anniversary satchels, and now Westwood has partnered up with the heritage brand, Globe-Trotter.
72-year-old Westwood’s luxury suitcases will feature in two colour ways – elegant cream and a midnight blue, both with burgundy leather corner and trim details, and finished with polished brass hardware. The interior shouts Westwood with a tartan lining of blue and red, while the outside boasts additional leather belts and straps in Westwood’s squiggle prints.
The luggage venture does not only extend Dame Vivienne’s portfolio of collaborations, it welcomes Globe-Trotter into Westwood’s hand picked fold of British heritage brands that celebrate traditional craftsmanship and follow the designer’s ‘buy less, choose well, make it last’ ethos.
Globe-Trotter, which HM Queen Elizabeth II selected for her honeymoon luggage in 1947, will sit alongside Gloverall, Johnston’s of Elgin, Lock&Co and Pantherella in this home grown initiative entitled Vivienne Westwood ♥’s.
Westwood’s luggage and the host of collaborative items will retail at viviennewestwood.com and selected international stores from November 11, with the Mini Utility case starting the Globe-Trotter collection off at £400.
