Celebrate the dawn of the winter solstice
The winter solstice has long been connected with rebirth and a time for celebration. The shortest day of the year has been celebrated since Neolithic times. This year there is no better way to mark the event than with a breakfast at Elizabeth Bay House.
Whether by design or by accident, Elizabeth Bay House was built in direct alignment with the sun’s rays on the winter solstice, creating a magnificent display in the early morning. As well as breakfast in the dining room, there will be an astronomical talk that goes into detail of this celestial event.
Elizabeth Bay House tomorrow morning (Friday 21 June) 6.30am — 8.30am
General $45 | Member/conc $40 | Bookings essential
